Цена, по которой новый выпуск ценных бумаг (new issue) продается публике. После выпуска на рынок ценные бумаги имеют рыночную цену, которая может быть выше (с премией; выше номинала) или ниже (со скидкой; ниже номинала) цены эмиссии (см. также: stag (спекуляция ценными бумагами)). При представлении ценных бумаг на бирже (introduction), предложении новых ценных бумаг на продажу (offer for sale) или публичном выпуске новых акций (public issue) компания в результате консультаций с биржевыми брокерами и банкирами фиксирует цену выпускаемых акций. При выпуске ценных бумаг на основе торга/аукциона (issue by tender) цена эмиссии определяется самой высокой из цен, указанных в заявках. При размещении новых ценных бумаг (placing) цена определяется в ходе переговоров между эмиссионным домом и брокером, занимающимся размещением.
